What is PTE?

The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based English test for non-native speakers. It evaluates Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening skills and offers PTE Academic (for study) and PTE General (for work/migration). PTE provides fast results within 48 hours and is widely accepted by institutions and immigration authorities globally.

Choosing a credential

The PTE system offers two main test versions to cater to different needs:

1. PTE Academic – Designed for individuals applying to higher education institutions or seeking professional recognition.
2. PTE General – Tailored for those pursuing migration, work experience, or secondary education.

Both versions evaluate skills in Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening, but feature content specific to their respective purposes. Scores are reported on a scale of 10-90, reflecting various proficiency levels. Candidates choose the appropriate test to demonstrate their language abilities based on their goals.
